What benefits do approved caregivers receive through PCAFC?
Approved primary family caregivers may receive a monthly stipend based on the level of care required (there are currently three tiers), access to CHAMPVA health insurance if not already covered, mental health counseling and support services, at least 30 days of respite care per year, and training and education to improve caregiving skills. Secondary caregivers receive respite care and training but do not receive the stipend or health insurance.
